I love toying with potatoes because I love to eat them. Lately, I’ve been particularly fond of tinkering with pizza, again because I love to eat them. Experimenting with different pizza flavors always brings me surprises.
I’ve toyed with potatoes and sausage countless ways, and today I’m using them again. But when it comes to pizza, every new creation is met with intense anticipation, and the results are generally satisfying, which is of course the biggest driving force behind endless innovation.
Okay, getting back to the point.
I recently tried a new way to mash potatoes using my rice cooker. It saves time, worry, and effort—it’s incredibly convenient. After dinner, wash, peel, and dice the potatoes. Add a little water or milk, and use our rice cooker. Start the rice setting (water usage varies depending on the cooker, so experiment to adjust). When the program ends, turn off the power. Every morning, pour out the potato cubes, and mash them in just a few seconds. Make whatever you want.
Ingredients: 200g flour, 120g water, 20g milk powder, 10g sugar, 3g salt, 10g olive oil (You can use a bread machine to rise the dough, or you can knead the dough before bed at night and let it rise naturally in a damp cloth. It’s ready to use the next morning. If you don’t know how to rise the dough, please PM me or read my previous blog post.)

Mashed Potato Pizza
Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 120 g water
- 20 g milk powder
- 10 g sugar
- 3 g salt
- 10 g olive oil
Instructions
- Steam the potatoes in advance and mash them into a paste.
- sausage slices
- Mix mashed potatoes with pizza sauce
- Roll out the dough into pancakes and poke holes with a fork
- Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for five minutes. If you are not careful and bake it a little longer, it is not a big problem
- Take out the pancake base and spread with mashed potatoes
- Place sausage on top
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese
- Put it in the oven at 220 degrees and remove it from the pan until it is evenly colored
- Baked pizza
Notes
2. I used a non-stick square pan because I was having a large group, so the dough was larger. If you were using a pizza stone, you’d need to use less dough.
3. I didn’t use a lot of cheese; if you want to make it stringy, you’ll need to use more.
